What is happening: We are replacing the aging distribution routers that serve the PAIS network zone and cutting those buildings over to new fiber circuits. This is part of our ongoing distribution-layer refresh. The new routers have already been configured, installed, powered, and brought under remote management, and the new fiber circuits are pre-built, so the weekend work is the cutover itself rather than building from scratch. To improve network performance and resilience, UNM IT Data Networks will be migrating building connections within the South Campus zone onto new network equipment. IT wired and wireless network services will be unavailable in each of the listed buildings during the maintenance on May 23rd, from 8:00AM until 5:00PM and May 24th, from 8:00AM until 5:00PM.
